Working Together
Everything you need to know about process, pricing, and what to expect.
What are your rates and pricing?
Project pricing is based on scope, complexity, timeline, and the value delivered. I work on flat-rate project fees rather than hourly billing, so you always know what to expect upfront. Starting investment levels for all services are listed on my Services page. Final pricing is confirmed after a discovery conversation.
What does the process look like?
  1. Discovery Call (30 minutes) — We discuss the project, your goals, audience, and any key details I need to get started.
  2. Proposal — I send a tailored proposal outlining the scope, timeline, and a flat-rate quote.
  3. Contract and Deposit — Once you're ready to move forward, I send a contract and invoice for a 50% deposit to reserve your project slot.
  4. First Draft — You receive the first draft in Google Docs based on the agreed timeline.
  5. Revisions — Leave comments directly in the doc and I'll turn around edits within 3 to 5 business days. Up to two rounds of revisions are included.
  6. Final Sign-Off — Once everything is approved, I send the final invoice for the remaining 50%.
How many revisions do I receive?
All projects include up to two rounds of revisions to ensure you're completely satisfied with the final product. Additional revisions beyond that may be subject to an extra fee, depending on scope.
Do you offer ghostwriting?
Yes. Ghostwriting is available for thought leadership articles, executive bylines, blogs, and other content. Because ghostwriting means forgoing the visibility and backlink that typically comes with a byline, it is priced at a higher rate than standard writing projects.
Do you offer retainer arrangements?
Yes. Monthly retainers are available for clients who need ongoing content support. Retainers provide priority scheduling and a consistent output of content each month. Get in touch to discuss what a retainer arrangement might look like for your team.
What topics do you cover?
I write about the technologies, trends, and challenges shaping the clean energy transition. Topics I regularly cover include:
  • Utility-scale and C&I solar PV
  • Battery energy storage systems (BESS)
  • Microgrids and distributed energy
  • Smart grid and grid modernization
  • EV charging infrastructure
  • Offshore and onshore wind
  • Renewable fuels (green hydrogen, biogas)
  • Net-zero strategies and carbon accounting
  • Energy markets
  • Circular economy and e-waste
  • Intelligent building systems and energy management software
  • Carbon sequestration
  • Regenerative agriculture
  • Ocean energy
What types of content do you produce?
I produce a wide range of B2B content for cleantech companies, including white papers, ebooks, case studies, thought leadership articles, bylined articles, executive ghostwriting, blog posts, newsletters, press releases, website copy, landing pages, one-pagers, and content strategy. Full details and starting pricing are on the Services page.
Do you offer Spanish translation?
Yes. Spanish translation is available as an add-on service for an additional fee. This is particularly useful for clients serving Latin American markets or operating in bilingual environments. Get in touch to discuss your translation needs alongside your content project.
Do you work with companies outside the USA?
Yes. I work with B2B cleantech companies across the USA, Canada, and Europe. Renewable Writing LLC is registered in Delaware, USA, and I am based in Costa Rica, so I am well positioned to work across time zones. All projects are delivered in English.
About Cleantech Content
Broader questions about the value of specialist cleantech content writing and strategy.
What is a cleantech content writer?
A cleantech content writer specializes in creating technical content for companies in renewable energy, energy storage, solar, grid technology, and clean power. Unlike generalist writers, a cleantech writer combines deep technical knowledge with strategic content skills to produce content that is accurate, credible, and effective with technical audiences.
Why hire a specialist cleantech writer instead of a generalist?
Cleantech content requires accurate technical language, familiarity with industry standards, and credibility with engineering and procurement audiences. A specialist reduces back-and-forth, produces more accurate first drafts, and builds the kind of authority that generalist writers simply can't replicate. The result is better content produced faster.
What is the difference between a thought leadership article and a byline article?
A thought leadership article is published on your own channels — your blog, LinkedIn, or website. A byline article is written for placement in an external publication or trade media outlet under your name. Byline articles typically command a higher rate because they require additional research and adaptation to meet an external editor's standards.
Do you offer content strategy for cleantech companies?
Yes. In addition to writing, I offer full content strategy services including content audits, messaging frameworks, audience analysis, and editorial roadmaps. Strategy engagements are available as standalone projects or as part of an ongoing content partnership. See the Services page for details.
