Cleantech Writer & Content Strategist
Putting passion to paper
I'm Alexis Phillips, a cleantech content writer and strategist with an MSc in Renewable Energy Engineering and a decade of experience in the industry.
About Me
Alexis K. Phillips
I have always had a passion for writing and am thrilled to be combining it with my other love — sustainability. I grew up on a farm in Pennsylvania, where I learned what sustainability meant from a young age. I come from four generations of entrepreneurs, and that background has shaped my growth mindset and the optimism I bring to every project.
Before founding Renewable Writing LLC in 2021, I was a project manager for cleantech and solar microgrid startups. I hold an MSc in Renewable Energy Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and Instituto Superior Técnico Lisboa, earned through a full-ride scholarship from InnoEnergy, and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University.
I primarily work with renewable energy and cleantech companies across the USA, Canada, and Europe to produce content that is technically credible, strategically sound, and genuinely useful to the people reading it.
Outside of work, I'm an avid traveler, scuba diver, snowboarder, and hiker. I've explored 35 countries while living in five of them, and for the past three years I've been based in Costa Rica, one of the first countries to run on 100% renewables.
My Mission
Inspiring sustainable action through strategic content
My mission is to accelerate the energy transition by helping cleantech companies tell their story clearly and compellingly. I believe great content doesn't just inform — it moves people to act.
- Passion My work comes from genuine belief in the energy transition. That passion translates into content that resonates.
- Integrity I do everything with the utmost intent, respect, and care for accuracy — especially in technically complex subject matter.
- Expertise A decade of renewable energy and cleantech experience means I understand your technology, your audience, and your industry without needing a crash course.
