ALEXIS K. PHILLIPS
I have always had a passion for writing and am so happy to be combining this talent with my other love, sustainability. I grew up on a farm in Pennsylvania, so I learned what sustainability meant from a young age. I come from four generations of entrepreneurs who have shaped my growth, expansion, and optimistic mindset.
Throughout my career, I project managed two clean tech startups for energy efficiency and solar microgrids and obtained my Master’s in Renewable Energy Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and Instituto Superior Técnico Lisboa and Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University.
Another passion of mine is travel, and I have explored 30 countries so far while living in five of them. These days you can find me in Costa Rica, chosen for its picturesque nature, world-class scuba diving, and amazing wildlife. Costa Rica’s values are aligned with mine, being one of the first countries to run on 100% renewables and establishing favorable biodiversity policies, such as protecting 70% of purchased land from development.
